Carved Thistle treen butter stamp

An antique wooden butter stamp plug, beautifully carved with an impression of a Scottish thistle and its leaves. Made of beech, the carved treen stamp plunger is enclosed in a nicely turned barrel shaped plug, kept in place by the tapering handle of the stamp.
