Antique carved treen butter stamp - palm frond

An antique treen butter stamp plug, beautifully carved with an impression of a palm frond surrounded by a dotted border. The stamp is enclosed in a turned barrel shaped plug, kept in place by a tapering handle which flares at the top. A nicely patinated and worn example with a tactile feel and warm brown colour to the polish.

Condition:
Light age related wear, marks and patination. There is a small indentation in the palm frond carving, along with some old marks and indentations around the stem of the stamp, neither of which really detract from the item.
